Captain Eddie Gochenour retires after 33 years on the job.  Captain Gochenour was hired June 3, 1977. 

He was a Firefighter-Emt throughout his career.  Captain Gochenour climbed the ladder of seniority over the years stopping briefly at the Lieutenants position, then finished as Captain on the Red shift. 

Captain Gochenour was involved in many other fire department activities such as City Fire Marshal, and was a leader in both the smoke detector program and the cooking safety program. 

After spending over 3 decades at the Martinsburg Fire Department Captain Gochenour retired on February 12, 2010. 

Captain Gochenour was a leader of this department and a good friend.  He was a huge asset to the community we serve.
